For the Fall 2022 season, we are excited to host our first in-person events at the GC. on November 12th, a special screening of the 60-minute award-winning documentary The Art of Un-War directed by Maria Niro. The film chronicles the life and work of intermedia artist and educator, Krzysztof Wodiczko, focusing on major themes in Wodiczko’s oeuvre such as war, trauma, and displacement.

On November 23rd, digital media scholars Alexandra Juhasz and Nishant Shah will present 5 Ways to Look at Misinformation, discussing story, poetry, and other human logics of care, intelligence, and dignity a world where information overload has become a new ontology of not-knowing.

We are also glad to welcome our new Art Science Connect Fellows: Hadley Newton, a doctoral candidate in the Art History program at the Graduate Center of the CUNY, and Tommy Martinez, a Brooklyn College Sonic Arts MFA candidate, who will be contributing to Art Science Connect’s public programming for the Spring semester.

Lastly, each year, Art Science Connect grants research and dissertation fellowship to Graduate Center students whose research intersects arts and sciences. We are delighted to announce this year’s awardees, Dissertation Fellows Tobah Aukland-Peck and Sedef Ozoguz, and Research Fellows Kirsten Gill, Stephen Spencer, Tamara Maatouk, and Kyueun Kim.
