While adjusting to our changed world, we realized that our season was uncannily suitable for our socially distanced reality, and we’re thrilled to share with you our virtual Fall 2020 Program!
We begin Monday, October 5th, with the long-awaited event, “The Aesthetic Brain.” Neuroscientist Anjan Chatterjee will ask how an aesthetic sense is etched in our minds and explain why art is so central to life. He will be joined by CUNY philosophers Jesse Prinz and Barbara Montero.
On Friday, October 30th, author and physicist Arthur I. Miller (The Artist in the Machine, 2019) will join composer Doug Geers and theater director Annie Dorsen to discuss innovations in algorithmic art.
Lastly, we are thrilled to host the Algorithmic Sound series: a bi-weekly master class with path-breaking musicians curated by composer and Ph.D. candidate, Jacob Sachs-Mishalanie. The series opens on Saturday,November 7th, with the U.K.-based artist and producer Mark Fell.
Creative GC: Art and Science Connect is supported by The James Family Charitable Foundation and the Al Held Foundation.
